Call for Cachers - June 5

Postby Spotty Spotty Pony Girl on Fri May 28, 2010 10:39 pm

Last year I was so looking forward to going to participating in the MAGPI group outing to Seneca Rocks the weekend after Memorial Day. I WAS until this big thoroughbred, who shall not be named because I really like his owner, destroyed my summer. That was on June 2, 2009.

So I'm looking to celebrate the one year of not being broken by going on a group hunt somewhere cool this coming weekend. (provided of course I make it until June 5/6 without mangling myself in some serious manner.

By the way, Scoutingwv, I'm so hoping neither of these dates work for you.

An early suggestion was Mozark Mountain and Table Rock Revisited.

Also suggested was a trip to Blackwater Falls where there are quite a few caches, including an earth cache.

So mull it over, and give me some feedback.

And pray for all your worth that I don't break myself again, because no one...NO ONE wants to have to live through another summer of me being laid up.

So striking no one will notice the seaweed between your teeth.

As long as Mozark Mountain still has the "mowed path" to it, I'll do that one. And I'll definitely revisit Table Rock Revisited ... again. Been there twice already. Incredible views from up there!

June 5th works better for me. Mozark Mountain looks to have problems based on the last log which was in 2008.

Count me in for either day. I was going to check on this one this fall/winter but for obvious reasons, that didn't work out. The snow should be gone from that area by now.

No problems if you're with the cache owner packing a shiny new ammo box.

The 6th is a lot better for me since I'll be tied up all afternoon on the 5th. I'm game if you go on the 6th.

Table Rock is really pretty tame, unless, I guess, if you proceed on up to the lookout and you fail to notice that there is no fense, I mean you could fall over, but other than that it is basically a nice walk with a great view just up the trail a little farther. Its is one of our favorites! Wish we were free next weekend, but we are still trying to figure a way to spring the Pilot from work for Coopers Rock Event, cough, . . . cough, . . . . . . cough.

Sorry for everyone pulling for the 6th, but right now I'm targeting the 5th. And no, I'm not trying to be mean (I don't need to try  )

Rendezvous time & places TBD.

Have you noticed how I'm staying out of this until a decision is made?

Yes. Yes I have. And now that I am at work and can consult my paper calendar (which is mightier & far more accurate than the one on my blackberry) I see that the nice little square for June 6 has stuff written in it. Which means that I'm saying June 5th as the date to take on Table Rock Revisted & Mozark Mountain.

Here's what I'm thinking in regards to meeting up to head to the cache(s)...

Morgantown Rendezvous: 8:00 a.m. at the Hornbeck Road Wal-Mart

that is a 100% valid comment and I whole heartedly agree with you. My distaste for the Evil Mart is well known. However, I find their parking lots to be rather convenient for the leaving of excess vehicles when attempting to consolidate for carpooling.
