Discover Roane County: Black Walnut Geotrail

I want to officially invite everyone to the Kickoff Event for the Black Walnut Geotrail on September 4, 2010. There is still a lot of planning to do, but I desperately needed a date on the calendar since all of August filled up on me and I wanted to get this published prior to the ExploreWV festivities. I don't want to have to follow up their shindig as it will be even more 'gooder'. I realize this is the same day as the home opener, but it is Coastal Freakin' Carolina, so you don't have to feel bad about skipping it .

If anyone would like to provide help, advice, tips, etc. I can use it. I have pretty much planned and developed this entire geotrail by myself and am getting pretty exhausted with it. TheWatt's has volunteered to help me make the boxes to house the containers (you'll see what I mean when you do it) and that is huge. I still have yet to actually hide said caches, but that should actually be one of the easiest parts.

For the event I need someone to bring a laptop running GSAK if possible. I'm not sure yet if we'll have wireless capability. I'm working on that. I realize that most will want to bust a move and get to caching so there will be minimal games, contests and the like for this event. I'm hoping to work out some prizes though. We may have an unofficial meet and greet in the evening after the dust settles if anyone is interested. B&W is a possibility.

Looking forward to seeing the carpenter again and hoping some more of you can make it at the last minute. So far I have 20 will attend logs and almost half of them are from outside of WV!!! The things we do for a geocoin! I'm super excited about the expected turnout. We have some nice swag and prizes too.
