SnowXRacer: New to Morgantown

Postby SnowXRacer on Sun Jul 18, 2010 11:56 am

Hello all. I am SnowXRacer and have recently moved to Morgantown with my wife Greenie333. We attended yesterday's event up in Cooper's Rock and had a really fun time. We made this our 900th cache! It was nice to meet new people and put faces with names we have seen before. We are looking forward to participating in the Geocaching community here and hope to see you all around soon.

Welcome new friends!!!
Anatomy (n): something everyone has, but which looks better on a girl.

Life would be so much easier if we could just look at the source code.

Welcome and glad you could make it to the MEAT-n-Greet.

Hope you can join us for Beer & Wings on the last Thursday of the month.

Welcome to Morgantown and to the MAGPI community! I don't think I met you at Coopers Rock, but that could be my CRS kicking in. I always seem to miss half of the people that show up there.

Hope to see you at B&W and out on the trail with us.

Thanks all for the welcome! Beer & Wings sound great! It will nice to learn about the local watering holes with good company! I will keep an eye on here for when & where.

Aquacache, I heard your name being thrown around the Meat-n-Greet, but I don't remember meeting you. I will be sure to introduce myself next time we are out.

See you all around soon!

Aquacache, does everyone love you, or love to talk about you? I never said I heard anything GOOD said about you!

Thanks for all the Welcomes guys. I am excited about being here in a little more active community. Neither Greenie333 or I have hidden a cache yet. We have been moving around a lot and haven't placed any of our own caches because we figured we wouldn't be able to maintain them. So hopefully now that we are here we can start to hide some. This move is more permanent than in the past.

This morning started out well. I got in my truck at 5:45am to head to work. Turned the key and the Blackberry started blowing up. 2 caches posted, one 1.9mi and one 0.6mi. Right place, wrong time I guess. Regretfully I made the responsible decision, ignored the caches, and actually made it on time for work. After the stressful day I had, I should have been late!

Notice the smilies I put on my post above ... the person hitting my on the head with a hammer and the other chasing me with an ax. I've been getting a lot of that lately.

We always welcome new cachers putting out nice (quality  ) hides. Can't wait to look for some of them.

Seeing that you're fairly new on the job here in town, maybe it was best that you got to work on time instead of getting the caches. From the logs, it sounds like you may have had a hard time getting there first anyway. Of course, after you've been on the job for a while, we fully expect you to abandon work any time a new cache comes out. I enjoy the FTF competition. :fencing:

I figured since SnowXRacer has already done the introduction for me, I'd just pop on and say "hi" to everyone. We're looking forward to being some FTF competition  Unfortunately, my job is not flexible AT ALL, so I can't sneak out to grab caches posted during the day. We're also looking forward to a few beer & wings nights. Look forward to seeing you all!

Sorry. There's only one "Welcome!" allowed per thread ... forum rules. If you want your own "Welcome!", you're going to have to start your own thread.

Pfft. The ONLY FTF I have is when all these other MAGPI people got together to place a cache...and I was stuck at work...but went out after work to get it...lol.
